Brownie Casserole

This is a favorite dessert of ours. I love the combination of hot fudge and cold ice cream. It's very rich and oh, so good!



1 1/4 Cups Sugar
3 Tbsp cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
2 Cup Flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 Cup nuts (optional)
6 Tbsp. butter
1 Cup milk

Syrup:
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup white sugar
2 Cups boiling water
5 Tbsp cocoa

Pour batter in ungreased casserole dish and pour syrup over top of batter. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Serve warm; top with whipped cream of vanilla ice cream.

Note: If you like the fudge to be a little thicker, add 1 Tbsp cornstarch to water before boiling.
