So I forgot to take a picture, but this is an old favorite chicken casserole recipe that really must be posted. I got it from a coworker when I a student working at the BYU Visitors Center. We frequently had potlucks during lunch and exchanged recipes with each other. It was the best job I've ever had working with really neat people.
3 cups cooked chicken, chopped (approx 4 breasts)
1 can Cream of Chicken soup, undiluted
1 8 oz. can water chestnuts (drained and sliced)
1/2 cup mayo
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
Mix all together in a pan on medium heat until it boils. Pour into greased casserole dish.
Topping on Casserole:
1 8 oz. package of Pilisbury Crescent Rolls
3 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup slivered almonds
On top of chicken mixture put the crescent roll dough pieced apart over casserole. Spread melted butter across that and then add the cheese and almonds. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
